Facebook is pretty famous, for censoring (historical) art containing nudity. Most of the time without a valid reason in my opinion.
That’s why I have found a way to uncensor these images. I turned them into mosaics made out of images that are allowed by Facebook and are related to the main image conceptually.
For example, a French teacher was blocked from uploading the painting L’Origine du monde by Gustave Courbet.
Artist Illma Gore was banned repeatedly from Facebook for posting a painting of Donald Trump with a micropenis.
Last but not least, Facebook also censored one of the most iconic war photos in history. The Napalm Girl image, taken by photojournalist Nick Ut in 1972 during the Vietnam War.
All these cases prove how scary and dangerous the Facebook monopoly is regarding media freedom.
